Description
A beautiful vintage sterling silver and enamel peacock brooch made in Siam (modern Thailand). Peacock has gorgeous sterling detail work between which is laid vivid green, cobalt, and cyan enamel work. Fanned feathered tail is attatched by a hinge to peacock’s body so it can be lowered and lifted. Has functional safety pin back. In good vintage conditon, just tarnished and exhibiting some wear and loss to enamel work – see pictures. Measures approx. 2.5″h x 1.5″w, and weighs approx. 16g/0.5oz. Marked on back “SIAM STERLING”. A piece of bold and intricate Southeast Asian craftsmanship!
